Boarding

about_us

Hostels are purpose-built for comfort and efficiency. A healthy rural environment with lots of fresh air yet close to the city.

There are separate hostels for girls with adequate conveniences (showers, toilets and laundry areas), common rooms with adjoining flats for staff members.

There are four houses at St. Kizito Girls’ Secondary Schools–Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Two Heart of Love, Infant Jesus and Divine Mercy. Every pupil belongs to a house. The house system at St. Kizito Girls’ Secondary Schools is set up to engender and foster a closely knit, vibrant and caring community. As part of the positive assertive disciplinary policy at St. Kizito Girls’ Secondary Schools, every pupil wins or loses house-points which are totted up at the end of the week. At the end of each term, the house with the highest number of points has a party!

Communication

We are committed to keeping boarders in contact with their parents wherever they may be in the world. If parents must speak with their children, we do have telephones which parents may call in the evenings. As a result of the very busy schedule in the school and the need for our students to concentrate fully on all activities in the school, we keep communication with home to the barest minimum.

Academic Review Days occur twice during the course of the academic session during which parents are expected to attend with their children. The Academic Review Days are usually fixed to coincide with the half-term holidays so that parents who live far away may not have to travel frequently. It is for this same reason that we do not have visiting days. Parents are free to telephone the school during office hours to discuss matters relating to their children.
